Which states do you serve lending capital?
Currently, entrepreneurs in California and New York can receive lending capital from VEDC in the form of Microloans and Standard Business Loans. For business owners outside these locations, there is a national network of CDFIs able to provide financing and technical assistance.
How expensive are the workshops?
All technical assistance provided by VEDC and its training programs, including workshops and 1-on-1 consulting sessions, are completely free of charge to all entrepreneurs. Please note: Workshops hosted by affiliate organizations may require payment.
What is a CDFI?
A CDFI, or Community Development Financial Institution, are organizations dedicated to offering quality lending capital to minority and low-to-moderate income communities in the United States. CDFIs are privately owned and operated, and certified by the CDFI Fund at the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
Do you serve start-ups and new businesses?
VEDC offers support and assistance to all business owners, regardless of the amount of time their business has been in operation. If we are unable to provide training or lending capital due to geographic restrictions, we can directly refer you to one of many local institutions who can help you.
